“Jaymey” Jodeanna Sweeney
RN, MN, FNP-C
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Jaymey has always loved helping patients improve their health, circumstances, and life. Working in Obesity Management allows her to do just that every day. In this role she is privileged to work with some of the most resilient people who are not only managing to SURVIVE in a world that is less than kind to them, but they are looking for ways to THRIVE. Working as a Primary Care Provider for 11 years gave Jaymey lasting skills for providing medically supervised weight management care. She enjoys working on a dynamic team that focuses on empowering patients to make changes that for years they felt may not have been possible.
Jaymey’s professional goals include a desire to decrease weight bias and stigma, through improving education and access to evidence-based care to those affected by obesity. Wanting to share her passion and excitement about treating the disease of obesity led Jaymey to be a founding member and the inaugural President of the Pacific Obesity Alliance.
When not in the office, Jaymey and her husband enjoy riding a tandem bike and discovering all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. In addition, she loves to spend time with family and friends, both at home and traveling abroad.
Valeria Rech
RD, LD, CDCES
I have devoted my career to learning the science of nutrition and the psychology of eating, which create the foundation for a sustainable lifestyle. I believe that everyone has the right to change their health forever. I accept people the way they are and am ready to help them make healthier changes that fit with the competing demands of our complicated and stressful lives, because like life, nutrition is not always black and white.
My philosophy and approach is evidence-based science, sound reasoning, coupled with creative ideas. My individualized care starts with curiosity about your history, goals, and learned body messages. Rather than approaching your lifestyle from a place of judgment, let’s celebrate your strengths and overcome challenges. I work with you to break down the barriers that have been keeping you from reaching your goals! Most importantly, I want to empower you, through education and support, to develop life-long skills to care for your body.

Susanne Purnell
MD, DABOM
Dr. Purnell obtained her medical degree at the University of Vermont Medical School and completed her pediatric residency at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C. During her 25 years as a general pediatrician, she saw more and more patients struggle with unwanted weight gain and accompanying consequences including prediabetes, altered lipid levels, fatty liver, and depression. Recognizing the limited resources for these families, she became board certified in Obesity Medicine and completed advanced training in diagnosing and managing lipid disorders. Her patient care philosophy is to listen and inform in a safe environment free of judgement and shame so that patients have the understanding they need to decide what is best for them.
