Advocates for Change

Why the Pacific Obesity Alliance?

Our Vision

A world where overweight and obesity are recognized as a chronic disease and every person is entitled to evidence-informed, patient-centered, proactive prevention and treatment.

Our Mission

Is to provide advocacy, education and engagement about weight related health management among individuals and communities.

Advocate

Stigma around obesity still exists in society, policy makers and within the medical community. Our members strive to change that stigma so patients can receive the best care possible.

Engage

Engagement happens in a variety of ways. As we begin our journey we are focused on networking, growth and education. We meet for instructional dinners with healthcare and industry members from around the Northwest. Please see our calendar for upcoming topics. Members also host a medical journal review club and there are plans in the future to host a conference.

Educate

We strive to bring together the brightest minds, critical and innovative thinkers to educate and challenge each other. Our members have diverse backgrounds and bring different strengths and perspectives to the table for the benefit of all alliance members.
